Accessibility Statement

Our commitment
LandonTalks is committed to making landontalks.com usable and welcoming to every visitor, including people who use assistive technologies or navigate the web with keyboards, screen readers, or other tools. Accessibility is not a one-time project. It is ongoing, and I will keep working on it.
The standard we aim for
This site targets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. That is the benchmark most commonly referenced for public-facing websites in the United States under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508.
What we have in place
- Descriptive alt text on images across the site
- Semantic HTML with a single H1 per page and clear heading hierarchy
- Visible keyboard focus indicators on every interactive element
- Skip-to-content link on every page
- Respect for user system settings, including reduced-motion preferences
- Minimum body-text sizes that meet accessibility guidelines
- Color combinations chosen with readability in mind
- Consistent link styling so links are easy to identify
- Language attribute set at the document level
Known limitations
I want to be honest about where accessibility is still a work in progress on this site:
- Embedded third-party content, including YouTube videos, relies on the platforms' own accessibility features. Captions on YouTube videos are auto-generated in most cases.
- Some older blog posts and archived pages may not yet meet current standards. I am updating these as I revisit each section.
- PDF files linked from the site may not always be fully tagged for screen readers. If a specific PDF is a barrier for you, I will provide an accessible alternative on request.
Tell me when something does not work
If you come across a barrier on landontalks.com, I want to know. Your feedback makes the site better for everyone.

Technical details
landontalks.com is built on the Squarespace platform, which publishes ongoing accessibility improvements to its underlying components. This site layers additional custom accessibility styles on top to further support keyboard navigation, reduced motion, and minimum text sizing.
